The National Educational Advocacy Partnership (NEAP) exists to ensure that children and young people with visual impairment receive the education they need – and deserve.

NEAP does this by:

  • empowering families – who believe that their child is being held back from fulfilling their individual potential in education because of their visual impairment – to access the services, equipment and support that their child or young person needs
  • providing independent information and impartial advice to enable families to make best use of the existing legislative and regulatory framework relating to educational provision
  • representing the views of children, young people and parents at all stages, including tribunal hearings, and where there are conflicting views, seeking wherever possible to find a solution acceptable to parents and professionals.

NEAP brings together Educational Advocates and independent specialists from organisations representing the needs of children and young people with visual impairment, and their families.
