Welcome to the North East Acupuncture Project

Accessible and affordable acupuncture for all

Accessible

NEAP aims to make acupuncture available to as many people as possible with a particular interest in reaching groups that would not normally access treatment due to social or economic factors.

Affordable

To improve accessibility, NEAP aims to keep costs low and affordable. Further workshops and groups with a focus on particular conditions are anticipated in the near future. We hope to make these free (or close to!)

Health Care

Acupuncture is medicine and it works. It shouldn't be viewed as a luxury treatment beyond the financial means of most. NEAP aims to promote the benefits of acupuncture within the community and raise awareness of how acupuncture can help with a wide range of conditions.

What Can Acupuncture Treat?

Physical discomforts such as IBS & back pain...

Emotional discomforts such as anxiety, stress trauma & depression...

Hormonal struggles such as PMS & menopause...

Plus much more!

What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is the use of very thin, sterile needles that are inserted into specific points on the body to promote circulation and to mobilize your body’s natural immune and healing responses.

What Can You Expect to Feel?

More energy and focus, better sleep, less anxiety, reduced pain, a more effective digestive system and balanced hormones.

These are just some of the things that you can achieve in addition to the primary focus of your treatment. Another aspect of acupuncture is the "positive side effects” so not only can acupuncture help you manage the symptoms you came in with, but it's likely you’ll also notice improvements in other aspects of your overall health. The beauty of holistic therapies is that they treat the whole person and not just the presenting symptom.

Why Is Acupuncture So Popular?

Acupuncture is Safe

Acupuncture is proven to be one of the safest therapies available, used by millions of people all over the world for centuries with virtually no (bad) side-effects. I use sterile, single-use, disposable needles.

Acupuncture is Effective

One of the oldest and most widely used forms of medicine, Acupuncture has stood the test of time. It is effective for a wide range of health conditions and has been increasingly incorporated into the NHS and other healthcare modalities such as physiotherapy and osteopathy.

Acupuncture is Natural

Acupuncture harnesses and amplifies your body’s inbuilt healing power and resources. Your body is amazing and can heal itself from a vast array of illness and disease. Unfortunately, the body can sometimes forget how to do this effectively and you become unwell. Acupuncture reminds your body what it needs to do to regain balance and wellness.

It Feels Good!

Acupuncture is one of the most relaxing therapies you can experience!

Want to Learn More About Acupuncture?

There is a growing body of modern acupuncture research to back the effectiveness, safety, and benefits of acupuncture. A lot of the research is easily accessible through the British Acupuncture Council website that pulls together all the latest acupuncture research from peer-reviewed journals around the world. You can look at some of the research available for your symptoms here or email for further info.

There is also a leaflet that has been published by the British Acupuncture Council that can be viewed here.

What’s the Process?

1. Make contact by email, Facebook or Instagram. Alternatively you can drop in for a cuppa and a chat in person.

2. We'll have a chat about what help and support you need and how acupuncture can help with any health care issues you may be experiencing. If you decide that acupuncture is right for you, we can arrange an appointment to find out about your symptoms and how they are affecting you. Once we have got to the root cause of your problem we can develop a unique treatment plan.
3. Let's execute your treatment plan together

Alongside acupuncture, I can make recommendations around lifestyle, diet and supplements which will help you to achieve and maintain wellness in the future.
